Utter dribble the Deus is like any other single frequency machine on the wet salt sand ,they are a compromise,and they should never be sold as a beach machine,BBS or FBS is the only way to go who is this bloke anyway some kind of expert ,,I think not

DeleteI have now found that the Gold Field setting on the Deus is all metal (stand to be corrected) is very interesting and have used this mode on the wet shingle beach with moderate results ,better than there wet sand setting ..
ReplyDeleteYou have the facility to increase the TX if you want and you can alter the tone of which is constant in this mode ,, you will notice the VDI readings seem to be accurate according to the conductivity of the target,, ie coins rings ect,, and the VDI reading alters on the target when you change frequency ,similar to any other setting when you change frequency..
I found that the lower the frequencies give you more depth ,when you get a target that is really high on the VDI and high on your ear !!its normally large iron you can flick to an adjacent setting with discrimination if it then comes up iron in the horseshoe or sounds spitty its probably iron,, you need to give this a bit of practice but its produced for me on the beach ,, still early days but this mode has potential , would appreciate any feed back from any one who tries this ....

ReplyDeleteit can be an option above a garret ace in wet sand but is not nade for hunting wet sand.
i have a vaquero ( tesoro ) and can use it on the wet beach , but i will get frustrated in compare with my explorer .
you need fbs bbs or pi units there .
that is the simple fact ,
deus is a fantastic machibe abd you can use it and finds lots of stuff even on wet sand.
but in no way it is a decent wet sand unit.
buy a explorer , a safari , a etrac
or better , a souvereign gt ,
or still better, a excaliber since he is waterproof to the fullest .
the salt spray on beachesvaffect your electronics once not protected or cleaned after hunting .
